SAYLOR  SMOKES  MEGA  SERIES

April 27   Blountville , Tenn      Muddy Creek Raceway

The predicted rain bypassed Muddy Creek this week and track conditions were great for round #5 of the United States Mega Series and round #7 of the Southern All-Stars MX Tour.

Canada ’s Jon Sabastian Roy (Honda) was fast and smooth, but Jacob Saylor was unbelievably fast.  The first moto of the 250 Pro class Ohio’s Steve Andrich (Suzuki, Valley Yamaha) got the holeshot, but Kentucky’s Donnie Adams (Kawasaki, Fence Pros, Moto Planet, Pro Action, J.Jones Racing) took the lead going down the stairsteps. Going up the hill to the finish line Roy took over the lead and Saylor (Yamaha, Yamaha Motor Corp, BSY, FOX, Pro Circuit, Scott, Dunlop, Tag, One Industries, Yamahalube, CTI, Engine Ice, Sayco Powerwash, Tichenor MX School, MXer’s for Jesus, Sponsor House, Playground Magazine, Creative Graphics, Fuel Motorsports) was into second. Their battle separated them from the pack. On the second lap Saylor passed Roy on the straight after the finish line by jumping low over the tabletops and getting a drive. As they completed the lap Saylor fell on the uphill going to the finish. Roy got gone and cruised while Saylor struggled to get his bike started and hold onto second. They finished that way with Andrich taking third and Jim Chester (Suzuki, Suzuki of Gastonia, Barrs Competition) moving up to get fourth. The second moto it was Roy, Saylor, and Kevin Blalock (Honda, Mountain Adventures Honda, Moto Planet, Dodgen Builders, Bluff Mountain Adventures, Pro Action) leading the pack off the start. On the second lap Saylor passed Roy on the infield downhill jump for the lead. When they got around to the uphill section going to the finish line, Saylor bobbled again and was off the track. Roy got gone by 8 seconds before Saylor got underway. Two laps later Saylor caught Roy and passed him on the straight of tabletops that he passed him on the first moto.

In the 125 Pro class Saylor pretty much decided the outcome of the race by the first turn. He pulled both holeshots and checked out. Chester , Andrich, Donald McGourty ( Kawasaki , Team Green, FOX, Pro Circuit, Dunlop, Oakley, Renthal, RK Chain, Maxima) and Hans Neel (KTM, KTM of Texas, O’Neal, Fence Pros, EVS, Liquid Performance, Race-Tech, Sunstar, Creative Graphics, Boyesen, Twin Air) battled over the second place position. The first moto went Saylor, McGourty, Neel, and Chester . The second moto it was Saylor, Chester , Andrich, and McGourty.

The next Mega Series event is May 3-4 at Daniel Boone MX and the next Southern All-Stars MX event is May 17-18 at Lazy River MX.
